Clarice M.D. Gargard (1988) is a journalist, NRC columnist and program maker. She worked for BNNVARA, AT5, Vogue and the Correspondent. In addition, she is a social advocate. In 2019 she is the Dutch UN Women Representative and will speech about women's rights at the UN General Assembly.
In 2019 her documentary Daddy and the Warlord (director Shamira Raphaela) and book Daughter of Dragons (Arbeiderspers) will also be published, about her family history and the Liberian civil wars.
Clarice is an all-round media maker who showcases underexposed realities and perspectives through her work. Because of her Afro-European and American background, she has a broad view on society. As a social advocate she represents the contemporary, inclusive feminism, that stands for customized emancipation and an equal and sustainable world.
