Groningen is celebrating 100 years of women’s suffrage. Groningen institutions are combining their powers to turn 2019 into a fantastic themed year – with parties, history, reflection, debate and action.
The University of Groningen is embracing this subject in its lustrum, themed ‘All Inclusive’. Furthermore, all over the city you will be able to see various exhibitions that are directly or indirectly about 100 years of women’s suffrage, including:
Strijd! 100 jaar vrouwenkiesrecht
The Groninger Museum presents an extensive overview of the history of the battle for women’s suffrage in the Netherlands, in which the Groningen physician Aletta Jacobs played a prominent role.
