As a result of agreements that the Dutch universities have made with several publishers, University of Groningen authors can now publish open access for free (or in some cases with a discount) in more than 8000 journals. The ‘article processing charge’ that an author usually has to pay to make an article open access, has been paid already as part of these deals.
