|Audience:||The course is suitable for complete beginners and for those who already know a little bit of Frisian. The attainment level of the course may thus vary and depends on the starting level.|
The Frisian language courses of the University of Groningen Language Centre focus mainly on speaking and understanding the Frisian language. Reading and writing skills will also be dealt with. Grammar is not a goal in itself in this course; however, it is used to support the language acquisition. A great deal of attention will be paid to acquiring a basic vocabulary. Participants are expected to demonstrate a high degree of independence when doing homework or independent study.
Language of Instruction
The target language is the language of instruction as much as possible: Frisian. When necessary, the course is taught in Dutch and/or English. The course material is in Dutch or English.

‘Studyload’, in the course description, indicates the number of hours a student is expected to spend on the course. A studyload of 28 hours equals 1 ECTS credit point.
At the end of a course, every participant will receive an attendance certificate on condition that they have attended 75% of the lessons.
