Rules for Travel and Subsistence support

Each group member of an EU-supported experiment is entitled to (partial) financial support for travel and subsistence after a positive recommendation by the KVI-CART Programme Advisory Committee. The following rules for reimbursement apply:

  • by plane: economy class
  • by train: 2nd or 1st class
  • by car: € 0.19 per kilometer
  • Subsistence: For each day a group member spends at KVI-CART for an EU-supported experiment, an allowance of up to € 90 per person per night is given (including breakfast; on invoice), and up to € 30 for meals (upon presentation of original receipts). The number of days is calculated as the number of nights between the day of arrival and the day of departure. This may include not only days for running the experiment, but also days needed for preparation and days needed to dismantle the experiment and to do first analysis of the data.

Information on the procedure to obtain financial support will be sent to the project spokesperson after an experiment has been scheduled.

The reimbursement of travel costs and the daily allowances will be transferred to the bank accounts of the individual group members after their stay at KVI-CART.
