Marie Curie Innovative Training Network for study of radiation hardness of electronics funded by EC

13 May 2016

The EC has decided to fund the Marie Curie Innovative Training Network RADSAGA that will give fifteen young scientists the opportunity to do a PhD-research project on the mitigation of radiation induced damage in electronics components. Radiation induced damage has been a concern for electronics in space, aeronautics and around accelerators for a long time already. With the increasing complexity of electronics and the continuing miniaturisation it now also becomes relevant for ground-based applications such as in the automotive and communication sectors.
KVI-CART is one of the eight participants in the network and will study the nuclear physics phenomena that impact the methods developed to assess the radiation hardness of electronics. In addition the KVI-CART irradiation facility AGORFIRM will be used for experiments for the various research projects.
