The aim of this project was to develop a (smartphone) app for foster youth in order to provide municipalities with better insight into their well-being and needs. By using the app, foster youth get the chance to voice their opinion about different aspects of their stay at their other home and specify what elements are important to them.
The research is part of a larger project My Other Home (Kinderpostzegels Nederland, 2015). The goal of My Other Home is to offer municipalities tools to support them in their responsibility of taking care of children who cannot live with their biological parent(s). In addition to the app, the municipalities will receive a short movie and a website with relevant information about foster care and family home care.
