Parking scheme Faculty BSS

The parking spaces within the gates of Grote Kruisstraat 2/1 and Nieuwe Kijk in 't Jatstraat are intended for the parking of cars and motorbikes (hereafter referred to as: vehicles) of:

  • Employees assigned to the BSS faculty. During working days from 7.00 to 17.30 hours, only those employees in possession of a valid parking card issued by the Faculty of BSS may park. Outside these hours, staff members without a parking ticket may also park their cars, provided there is space. In the weekend (Friday 19.00 hrs till Monday 7.00 hrs) parking ticket holders can use the car park on the Nieuwe Kijk in 't Jatstraat.
  • Staff and students of BSS with a functional impairment. They must be in possession of a valid disabled parking card. The disabled parking spaces are indicated by a sign. They will be issued a parking card of temporary duration.
  • Visitors of BSS employees. Two parking spaces are reserved on each site for this purpose. These spaces are also intended for BSS employees who are temporarily disabled. The Internal Service decides on the use of these spaces, reservation is not possible.

The parking card is issued by the Planon administrator. Application is made by means of the

Application form for a parking pass/permit

In the event of loss or damage to the access badge (druppel), twenty-five euros will be charged for the replacement. An employee may be eligible for a parking card if he has a place of work in one of the BSS buildings and he also lives outside a radius of 15 kilometres from the postal code 9712 TS measured by the ANWB route planner using the shortest route. The registration number of the vehicle to be parked is shown on the card. When parking in one of the car parks, this card must be placed visibly behind the windscreen. Every year, every parking ticket holder receives a new parking ticket; the old ticket is no longer valid.

If all the parking spaces in one area are occupied, parking is no longer possible and you will be directed to the other area; if all the parking spaces in both areas are occupied, you must park elsewhere. The disabled and guest parking spaces retain their function. If the site is full, this will be indicated by means of a light signal.

Parking is entirely at your own risk. Parkers indemnify the RUG against all consequences arising from this permit. The rules of the road traffic regulations apply on the sites.

Parkers must report any damage they cause to property belonging to the RUG or third parties to the Internal Department immediately. If necessary, a damage form must be filled in.

Use of the car parks in contravention of these regulations is punishable by withdrawal of the access pass and parking ticket for six months.

The RUG is also entitled to remove the vehicle concerned from the car park if it violates one or more of the conditions laid down in these regulations. The costs will be recovered from the owner of the vehicle. Neither the RUG nor GMW is liable for any damage resulting from the towing operation.

Parking is permitted only in the designated bays. If all the spaces are occupied, the parking ticket holder will remove his/her vehicle from the premises immediately.

The parking permit is valid for a maximum of one year from 1 September or until the end of the employment, whichever comes first, and can only be withdrawn giving reasons. The validity of the parking card is always tacitly renewed.

No parking space can be guaranteed to parking ticket holders. In order to optimise the use of the parking permit, the number of permits to be issued will be 25% higher than the number of spaces.

Separate agreements will be made with the study programmes that provide evening education in the BSS buildings for parking facilities in the evening hours, i.e. after 5.30 pm.

This parking regulation applies to all parkers on the parking grounds of the BSS faculty. These regulations are distributed to all parking ticket holders and are also available for inspection at the Internal Service.
