Procedure for incoming guest researchers

• The Graduate School for the Humanities (GSH) (for PhD students) or the Director of the relevant Research Institute (for postdocs and senior researchers) must be informed when a guest is invited.
• GSH or the Research Institute will then ask HR to register the guest in Peoplesoft (as OEP = ‘Overig Extern Personeel’; other external staff) so that the guest can be provided with a computer/e-mail account, library card, etc. If desired, a physical workstation including desktop computer will be arranged by the GSH staff office or staff of the Research Institute in mutual consultation. The degree programme coordinator may also play a role here. Visa applications will be arranged by the ISD, but the charges must be borne by the guest.
• Finding and obtaining suitable accommodation can be arranged via the private sector. The guest has to bear in mind that finding takes time and is the responsibility of the guest. The GSH staff office will provide the guest with all the information needed. Accomodation costs (rent, administration fees and deposits) must be borne by the guest.

• The degree programme coordinator must be notified that a guest lecturer is going to be invited.
• The degree programme coordinator will then make sure that the guest lecturer is registered in Peoplesoft (as OEP = ‘Overig Extern Personeel’; other external staff) so that he/she can be provided with a computer/e-mail account, library card, etc. The degree programme coordinator will also arrange a workstation.
• Visa applications will be arranged by the ISD, but the charges must be borne by the guest.
