When:Sa 14-06-2014 13:30 - 15:00
Where:Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, Oude Boteringestraat 38, Groningen

The University of Groningen invites all alumni to come for a ‘trip down memory lane’, in the weekend of 13 to 15 June 2014.

Saturday

Welcoming and lunch
It begins at 11:00 on the Broerplein, followed by a joint lunch in the city center, grouped by faculty; a large quantity of beautifully decorated tables around the Vismarkt and Broerplein. At our faculty table, you can meet professor Mladen Popović, director of the Qumran Institute and curator of the Dead Sea Scrools exhibition in the Drents Museum in 2013.

Diverse events
After the lunch , you can visit our faculty for lectures (in Dutch) and a guided tour of our beautiful building. Afterwards there is time to go watch the big
rowing event , the Bommenb∞trace, in the city center of Groningen.  Furthermore there will be three exhibitions that are possible to go see; in the University Museum, The Aa-church (Aa-kerk) and the Groninger Museum. The afternoon will close with a drink on the Grote Markt.

Dinner
The ‘Gift for Infinity’ dinner will take place in the Martini Church (Martinikerk), whilst elsewhere in the city ‘Gift for Infinity’ menus will be served.

Parade and closing party
Saturday evening you will be presented with a large procession of students and inhabitants of Groningen: the parade of the
Masquerade – Move it. This will finish with a bang through a closing party for everyone on the Grote Markt and the Vismarkt. A party with plenty of old and new music and an explosive final note of the event.

Sunday

On Sunday, alumni can have a look at their former culture, sports association or of course visit Aletta the Musical in the Stadsschouwburg.

Welcoming ceremony Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

For all of our alumni living abroad, we offer an extra program prior to the Alumni Weekend: a welcoming ceremony in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam on Thursday 12 June 2014.
