Lisa Förster
Lisa Förster

Hello! My name is Lisa Förster and I’m a German student in the second year of the BA in Religious Studies. During my gap year in Australia, I became aware that my interest lies in the various religions and cultures people live and practice every day. The amount of Bachelor's programmes Universities offer nowadays can be overwhelming and I found out that it’s very important to discover your personal interests and to take enough time for the decision. The international atmosphere in the Faculty makes me feel very welcome and I can say that I’m more than happy with my choice! If you have any question, please don’t hesitate to send an email to l.s.forster@student.rug.nl.

Leon Kooijmans
Leon Kooijmans

Hi everyone! My name is Leon Kooijmans and I'm studying Theology. After high school I decided to take a gap year because of the large amount of pressure I felt while choosing what to major in. After this gap year, I couldn't avoid the fact that my interests were found in the different aspects of the study of Theology. Right now, I'm in my third year and I'm incredibly happy with the choice that I made. I know that finding a fitting major can be challenging and that is why I want to help you with this hard decision by providing information about our wonderful courses and our beautiful faculty. If you have any questions, you can always reach me at l.kooijmans@student.rug.nl.

Marco Bijdevaate
Marco Bijdevaate

Hello, good day! Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Marco Bijdevaate. Second year Theology student. It took a while for me to find out what my purpose in life was. First I finished graphic design. I tried arts & economics to understand the management side of it all, and there I learned that the story you want to tell was one of the most important things to have in mind. For me, the message of the Bible is that story, so my final choice is Theology, and now I’m trying to become a rockstar pastor. Some choices are great, others are less fun, but necessary to reach the next step to where you want to go. I’m here for you to answer your questions about your possible next step in Theology. You can sent them to m.j.bijdevaate@rug.nl

Lena Tolboom
Lena Tolboom

Hello, my name is Lena Tolboom and I am a second years student Religious Studies. After high school I took a gap year and travelled through Thailand, China, Portugal, and Canada. There I realised that I definitely wanted to do something with culture, as I had a strong wish to understand people. Religious studies in Groningen offers me interesting subjects, a lovely faculty where we know each other, and the opportunity to do extracurricular activities. For example, last year I have been on an anthropology excursion to India, and I lived in a Taiwanese Buddhist monastery for a month. I would be more than happy to answer your questions and hope to see you on the open days! My email address is l.m.tolboom@student.rug.nl

Marieke Landman
Marieke Landman

Hello everyone! I’m Marieke Landman and I’m in my third year of Religious Studies. After high school, I had a lot of trouble making the right choice in studies. I was interested in too many subjects! To figure out what I wanted, I decided to take a gap year to see something of the world. I came into contact with different cultures, ideas and of course religions. Religion plays a major role on many different levels; not only on the other side of the world, but here in the Netherlands as well. It’s great to do research on these phenomena. Together with the fact, that the faculty is a cozy, fun place to be, it’s wonderful to be a student here. Do you consider studying religious studies? You might have some questions then. I would like to help you! Don’t hesitate to email me at: m.landman.3@student.rug.nl
