Research facilities

The Zernike NanoLab Groningen

Part of the Zernike Institute of Advanced Materials and of the Dutch national facility for nanotechnological research, the Zernike NanoLab has various basic and expert technologies.

Researchers involved in the Engineering Excellence Centre benefit from state of the art facilities at the participating Institutes. Research facilities on the Zernike campus at the University of Groningen include:

Labs at the Engineering and Technology Institute Groningen

At ENTEG researchers can conduct their projects in labs for Cyber-Physical Systems, Hybrid Control, Real-time Control, Smart-grid, Mechatronics, Robotic Manipulation, Mobile and aerial robotics, Robotic fish pool, and Advanced Production Engineering. The group Aquatic Biotechnology and Bioproduct Engineering has permit to work with genetically modified Escherichia coli for production of glycoside hydrolases and the equipment necessary for this type of research.

Biomedical Engineering

Facilities for Biomedical Engineering are available at the University Medical Centre Groningen

IT facilities and services

The Centre for Information Technology provides computing and storage services that can be used for a wide range of multidisciplinary problems: the Peregrine Linux cluster and the Gridcluster for high performance computing, the Reality Cube and the Reality Theatre for visualization. The Research Data office at the CIT supports researchers with data management.
