Johanna Kellermann

MSc Supply Chain Management, Germany
Johanna Kellermann

My name is Johanna Kellermann and I'm a student of the Master ‘Supply Chain Management’. Currently, I’m writing my thesis about humanitarian operations and I’m working as a student ambassador. My studies focusses on a wide range of subjects, such as Purchasing, Inventory Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Operations, Supply Chain Network Design, and many more.

The interest in logistical processes developed during my bachelor studies ‘International Business and Management Studies’, in which I followed Supply Chain Management courses, absolved two work placements in SCM positions abroad, and wrote my bachelor thesis about supply chain performance. Not surprisingly, the decision fell to specialize in SCM and I moved to Groningen to start with the Pre-Master.

Groningen itself is a vibrant city, the capital of the North, and it’s fun to live in it. It’s the 7th city to which I moved, and certainly one of my favorites. It combines all amenities of a larger city (bars, clubs, restaurants, cinema, shops, markets, etc.) with the peacefulness of a smaller town (parks, nature, atmosphere, etc.). Coming originally from a small town and moving to Groningen together with an active dog, emphasizes the importance of the latter for me. Additionally, the city is great for biking and for ‘gezellig’ meet-ups with friends.

The master degree ‘Supply Chain Management’ is challenging and engaging, providing us with many contacts to companies through guest lectures, plant visits, and cases. It is the best in the Netherlands (Keuzegids 2016 & Elsevier 2016) and prepares us for a successful career in various positions. I feel confident about starting my career in Autumn, being equipped with this master degree and my previous experiences.

If you have any questions regarding the SCM master degree or student life in Groningen, do not hesitate to contact me.
