Mini-symposium: Performance Management
Welcome on Tuesday 1 May 2012
'Performance Management' is an important theme in management accounting and control research. Good performance management is considered central in the well-functioning of organizations in the current dynamic environment. This mini-symposium is meant for academics who are interested in research on a variety of performance management issues. It is organized by the accounting department of the University of Groningen in co-operation with RACC, the Dutch Research Center of Accounting and Control Change. The univeristies participating in RACC are Radboud University Nijmegen, the University of Amsterdam and the Open University in Heerlen.
Speakers are Professor Henk ter Bogt of the University of Groningen, Professor Eddy Cardinaels of Tilburg University, and Professor Ed Vosselman of Radboud University Nijmegen. The topics of all three presentations relate to performance management, varying from performance management at universities to compensation issues and the performativity of performance management.
Hopefully the symposium will offer an inspiring programme for all who are interested in the recent developments in management accounting and control research. The programme starts at 12.30 hours in "Het Kasteel", Melkweg 1, Groningen (a lunch will be included). The symposium is followed by the inaugural speech of Paula van Veen-Dirks at 16.15 hours in the Academy Building, Broerstraat 5, Groningen.
