NWO grant for Prof. Mulder: Changes to electricity market due to sustainable energy

12 March 2015
The supply of energy through solar panels or wind turbines will require major changes to the electricity market.

A smooth transfer to sustainable energy in Europe will require major changes to the electricity market – for example because the supply of energy through solar panels or wind turbines is less reliable or can result in significant price fluctuations. Which changes to the electricity market will prove most beneficial? Prof. Machiel Mulder, Professor by Special Appointment in Regulation of Energy Markets at the University of Groningen, has been awarded a research grant of almost EUR 200,000 from NWO, with co-funding from a number of societal partners.
