FEB welcomes international experts on career services for students | Conference 18-20 November
The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen is proud to host the third International Career Services Conference of EFMD from 18 to 20 November 2015. Experts from around the world who focus on helping students to prepare for the job market, gather in Groningen to discuss their experiences. The previous Careers Services conferences were held in in Madrid and Porto.
Participants at the conference are staff and directors of career services from institutions such as HEC Paris, Vlerick Business School, CBS, the University of Cairo, ESMT, Tilburg University, INCAE and many others. EFMD is an international membership organisation focusing on management development.
No longer sufficient
Career services for students are at the center of attention nowadays since the actual job market is very dynamic, international and highly competitive. A permanent job is not the standard anymore. And a degree on its own is no longer sufficient. Employers appreciate both the grade point average and relevant work experience. This is why educational institutions like universities pay more and more attention to preparing their students for their future careers and would like to share their experiences among each-other. The conference in Groningen meets this need.
The opening of the conference is in the hands of futurologist Louise Fredbo-Nielsen who will discuss future trends. Sonia Hendy-Isaac, programme Director at Birmingham City University will conclude with a plenary session on how employability is a collective engagement. Participants of the conference will share their best practices and learn how to connect in workshops about: Online tools and resources, Corporate relations with students, Career to curriculum, and Stakeholders through partnership.
