Matej Nepimach, of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Groningen, came second in the battle for the Hoofbosch Master Thesis Award 2014. He wrote his thesis ‘Graham's legacy vs. Mr. Market’ during his Master of Finance, supervised by Dr. Lammertjan Dam. Warren Buffet, one of the world's richest people, says that he invests according to the method of Graham. In his thesis, Nepimach formally tested whether the investment strategies of Graham are actually profitable. This was indeed the case. Nepimach lives and works in Prague, Czech Republic. He received 1,500 euros for his thesis.
