Exam regulations

  • Can I apply for an additional resit?

Generally not, since there is a regular exam and a resit for every course. There are, however, exceptions: is it the very last course of your BSc or MSc programme and did you pass all other courses including your thesis? In this situation you may, under certain conditions, apply to the Board of Examiners for an additional resit of your last exam. Please read article 1.6, paragraph 7 of the Regulations and Guidelines carefully. They are part of the Teaching and Examination Regulations. Please note that the Board of Examiners is not likely to grant additional resits in case of special circumstances. In case of personal circumstances that may cause delay in your studies (e.g. disability, depression, (chronical) illness), please contact your study advisor as soon as possible to discuss your options.

    Ask your question

  • What type of calculator is allowed during exams?

  • I have passed an exam, but I would like to take a resit for a higher grade. Does the highest grade or the last grade count?

    The highest grade counts.
Please note that it is not allowed to take a resit for a higher grade on a first year course after you have already completed your first year.
