Liane Voerman, FEB’s lecturer of the year of 2016, is our candidate in the annual election of the University of Groningen Lecturer of the Year. She will battle against eight other lecturers next Wednesday and she could use our support! Vote online or at the election ceremony in the Aula of the Academy Building! On Wednesday afternoon January 25 starting at 2.30 pm, nine lecturers from the University of Groningen will compete in the Aula of the Academy Building for the title of Lecturer of the year 2016. The nominated lecturers will give a short lecture lasting about ten minutes. Thereafter, a jury of experts will announce the winners of the Audience Award and the Web Award.

Liane Voerman studied Economics at the University of Groningen from 1990 to 1995. She has been working at the Department of Marketing and Marketing Research since 1996, first as a PhD student, then as a lecturer. Her dissertation concerned the international strategic behaviour of smaller firms.
Voerman’s goal is to teach students the theoretical background of marketing issues and how to apply them in practical situations. She tries to communicate the relevance and fun of marketing and marketing research. Many students think she succeeds at this, and appreciate her energy. Students say:
