Since 2009 the Careers Company cooperates with the MDBC. A lot of our students participated in the Student Intership Programme of the MDBC. One of them is Chieljan Pierik: “I would recommend everybody to do an internship via MDBC Student Intern Program here in Malaysia!”. On Monday 6 November Marco Winter, Executive Director at Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), will host an info session about your opportunities at companies in Malaysia.

  • Where: 5114-0001 (Faculty of Science and Engineering, Nijenborgh 4)
    Who: all interested (Dutch) students
Register: through sending an email to, stating your name, degree programme and student number

What is MDBC?

The Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC) is a vibrant business membership organization comprised of over 230 corporate members ranging from individual members to large corporations and multinational firms. Through regular (monthly) events, members are able to develop good business contacts with the Dutch business community in Malaysia, as well as with other foreign companies, Malaysian counterparts and government bodies. The aim is to stimulate trade and investments between Malaysia and The Netherlands.

Student Internship Programme

The Student Internship Programme (SIP) was created by the MDBC as yet another way to increase the ties between the Netherlands and Malaysia by bringing enthusiastic Dutch students to Malaysia for internships with MDBC member companies.

Founded in 2004 with 2 batches of students each year (in February and September), it has surpassed the tremendous amount of 850 placed interns. Interns are placed for 5 months at either MDBC itself, or at one of our more than 200 member companies varying from multinationals to SMEs.

Please note that if you want to apply for an internship in Malaysia via MDBC, you should contact Nienke van den Berg. MDBC's SIP is unfortunately only open to Dutch students!
