During the Careers Week all Master Programmes get the opportunity to organise a specific programme for their students. Preparing them for their future in that specific line of business and industry. Below you find an overview of the Master activities organised on Wednesday 4 October. Please check with your own Master coordinator whether or not the activity within your programme is mandatory.

De IT-audit activiteit van studievereniging Pro Memorie

Anno 2017 speelt IT-audit een steeds grotere rol bij de accountantscontrole. Tegenwoordig wordt data, afkomstig uit een ERP-systeem, omgezet in Excel. De vraag is: hoe gaat men te werk om deze data te controleren? Op woensdagmiddag 4 oktober 2017 volgt het antwoord! Aan de hand van een korte introductie en een casus, waarbij de student proces- en detailcontroles gaat uitvoeren, krijgt de student inzicht in de IT-omgeving waar hij of zij als starter mee te maken gaat krijgen. Risk Accountancy Week


The Risk Accountancy Week is an Inhouse Tour, in which a group of 25 students will visit some of the biggest audit companies of the world. The tour takes place in the Randstad, where we will stay in a hotel for 3 days. Alongside the participating companies, we will work on cases and enjoy lunches or dinners with their employees. There will be plenty of time to discuss the possibilities of doing your thesis or internship at one of the firms. To be short, the perfect opportunity for kick-starting your audit career!

Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies

VESTING Alumni Symposium

Do you want to know how ex Econometrics and Operations Research students end up? And how they nowadays apply their study skills in practice? To get to know this, VESTING will organise the Alumni Symposium on the 4th of October. Four VESTING Alumni will tell how they experienced their studies, how they have fallen into the labour market and about the contributions of their studies in practice. A lunch and social afterwards are included.

Finance event

During the master activity of the MSc Finance, Erik Hulsegge working as a senior investment manager at PGGM Investments gives a lecture on factor investing in asset management. PGGM is the second largest provider of pension fund services in the Netherlands.

Careers Day Human Resource Management

Many companies use e-assessments and the STAR interview method as part of their recruitment procedure. As a future HR professional, do you know how to use them when recruiting new personnel? Or even more important, do you think you can successfully complete the e-assessment and the STAR method when applying for a job? On the 4th of October, the MC HRM organises the Careers day for all HRM students. We invited two companies (Leeuwendaal and Shell) to give two workshops that include the use of online-assessments, the STAR method, and you will be informed about the employment possibilities for young graduates at these two companies!

Jump-start Your Career!

The ´Jump-start Your Career´ is a jointly organised event by MC IB&M and IE&B with a goal of improving the career prospects of our Master students. At ´Jumpstart Your Career´, you, our Master students will have the opportunity to learn from and connect with our former students, and successful alumni. This is the chance to meet current consultants, bankers and others working for prestigious companies and talk with them in an informal manner while enjoying a tasteful drink!
Moreover, if you are interested in improving your chances of getting the best job after graduation, a unique E-assessment workshop will enable you to challenge yourself and test your abilities.

MSc Marketing Career Day

This year, on October 4th, the MSc Marketing Career Day will again take place! This event is part of the course Strategic Marketing and offers several readings and workshops by interesting and diverse companies. During the workshops you get the chance to work on a challenging case and get to know more about the companies and their field of marketing. A free lunch will be catered and the day will end with a nice social. Application will open on September 18th.

Small Business and Entrepreneurship

Your Professional Life after SB&E: Tips & Tricks by SB&E Alumni

In the 20 years of its existence, the Master Small Business & Entrepreneurship (SB&E) has produced hundreds of alumni, and during this event you can meet several of them! We invite a diverse group of alumni; alumni who currently manage their own business, who work for a large company (e.g. banks or a big supermarket chain), who work as a consultant or as a policy maker. Several alumni will give presentations on how they found their first jobs or started their own businesses. They will share their tips and tricks for getting the most out of your SB&E program and how to make a head start in your future professional life. The event is a good opportunity for SB&E students to network with your professionals! This event is obligatory for SB&E Master students, but other students are welcome to attend!

Battle of the Innovators

Do you want to test your innovation knowledge? Do you think you can beat your fellow SIM students? Do you want to get to know awesome companies? Then join the Battle of the Innovators! Three companies will present their company and an interesting case about the topic of innovation. Win point at all three cases and win the Battle of the Innovators! After the three cases there will be a social so you can get to know the companies in an informal way and ask them anything!
