Frontier of Science

Experience this interactive activity in room 0103 of the Academy Building!

The activity of the Frontiers of Science group will bring the research from CERN to public attention in an accessible, friendly, and fun way. Split into four sub-groups, the group will have a variety of engaging activities, ranging from mind-boggling quizzes through enticing games to fascinating experiments. Firstly, visitors will be able to learn a little more about what isn’t true about CERN - and, conversely, the things that are true, even if they don’t seem to be. Secondly, some concrete applications of the research conducted at CERN, such as those in space exploration and medicine, will be explained in more detail, with the help of interactive games. Thirdly and finally, we will explain a fundamental principle of quantum physics using nothing more than a cardboard box. Overall, we offer something for anyone interested in getting a deeper look into the world of cutting-edge science without getting too technical.
