Active students transform information to knowledge and have more fun than passive students. But how do we move students? With a new approach (“Flipping the lecture”) and the use of other recourses it is possible to tempt students to prepare themselves for lectures. Prior knowledge will be studied beforehand. You can then use the lecture time for interaction and discussion. This way contact hours are truly spent as contact hours: contact between students themselves and their teacher. Building new tools (recording short video clips, and ‘webapps’) make it possible to immediately use the questions and answers of students during the lecture. This way a lecture becomes a working group.
