Virtual Reality and Spatial-Temporal Models for Spatial Sciences and Urban Design in Education
In this project FRW wants to implement VR-technology in their faculty.
The use of the latest digital technologies and virtual realities has gained a prominent position in spatial science education. The importance of 3D and 4D modeling is to tackle challenges and complex problems within the built environment for future cities and rural areas. Through the application of VR models, students will be able to better observe, analyze and understand complex spatial phenomena. It also enables participatory modeling, as a guideline for spatial planning and decision-making involving the experts from other fields and the public. Furthermore, it will enhance the capabilities of students to visualize and communicate a variety of spatial–temporal contents. This project is interesting because it introduces a new technology in the university. Using VR-technology is very much in line with the concept of active learning and is potentially interesting for many other faculties/programmes.Contact
