Workshop Virtual and Augmented reality and 3D
|Duration:||1 half day|
|Audience:||teachers and researchers|
This workshop is intended for teachers and researchers. For lecturers it offers an exploration when and how these techniques can be used to explain a concept to students by experiencing a situation. For researchers it can actually help to collect data in a new way or to present outcomes in a different way.
In a day time you will get to know different head mount displays, 360 degrees video, the zSpace, the Reality Cube and the Reality Theatre.
At the end of the afternoon there is a brainstorming session to see how you could use it in education or research and what further steps can be taken.
Schedule of the day:
09.00-10.30: Visual lab;
10.30-12.15: Reality Cube and Reality Theatre;
12.15-13.00: Brainstorming session.
At the end of the course you:
- have an overview of the VR / AR / 3D tools and facilities available at the University of Groningen;
- know the (im) possibilities of the various tools / facilities;
- can estimate which tool / facility is most suitable for your research / educational purpose;
- can exchange ideas with colleagues about the use of VR / AR / 3D in your research / education.
A separate course day for education or research group is possible, please contact Gert-Jan Verheij (050) 3637440 or firstname.lastname@example.org
