Corporate Academy


Duration: 26 hours (in 13 weeks) or 20 hours (in 10 weeks)
Studyload: Each week: 2 hours of teaching (including a break) and 2 hours of independent study.

The Portuguese language courses of the University of Groningen Language Centre focus mainly on speaking and understanding the Portuguese language. Reading and writing skills will also be dealt with. Grammar is not a goal in itself in this course; however, it is used to support the language acquisition. A great deal of attention will be paid to acquiring a basic vocabulary. Participants are expected to demonstrate a high degree of independence when doing homework or independent study.

Language of Instruction

The target language is the language of instruction as much as possible: (Brazilian Portuguese). When necessary, the course is taught in Dutch and/or English. The course material is in Dutch or English.

Student workload

‘Studyload’, in the course description, indicates the number of hours a student is expected to spend on the course. A studyload of 28 hours equals 1 ECTS credit point.

Attendance certificate

At the end of a course, every participant will receive an attendance certificate on condition that they have attended 75% of the lessons.
