Condition-based maintenance is a relatively new maintenance strategy in which assets or parts are not replaced until there are signs of decreasing performance and there are dangers of breaking down. While this implies that businesses need to invest less in spare parts, they run the risk of creating an uncoordinated and inefficient maintenance process. In this project, COPE worked together with eight process industry companies, to try and find the best possible combination of condition-based and preventive maintenance. Read more.
