'Basiswerkplek' does NOT provide access to the digital library
Some UMCG employees use the so-called Basiswerkplek (Digital Workplace) at home, but please note: the Basic Workplace is NOT the new WOM, with the Basiswerkplek you actually work off-campus. That means that you do not have direct access to the digital library, such as our e-journals and e-books.
What is the easiest way to get to the digital collection at home?
Preferably use the WOM (access.umcg.nl) or the UWP (uwp.rug.nl) at home. Then you always have direct access to our entire digital collection.
Would you rather continue to use the Basic Workplace?
Then you can still access the digital collection in the following ways:
- Always start your search on the CMB website . The links there will automatically go to a login screen first, where you can log in with your UMCG account or RUG account.
- Or log in to the proxy server beforehand.
Either way, once logged in you have access to our online collection for the entire session.
Other useful tools for access
Lean Library: the library in your browser

Add our browser extension now to your browser in the Basiswerkplek, the WOM and at home!: anywhere, anytime access to our online information resources, for your desktop or laptop.
(not yet for tablets/mobile)
Library Connect button
also for tablets / mobile

This is a very useful tool to get access from everywhere, ánd it always shows the Get-It button in PubMed.
