I believe every student at the University of Groningen has their personal talents. Talents we would like to show in our motivation letters and CV's when we enter the labour market. We all know it is essential to be able to show what you can bring to a business when you are applying for a job. But to express those talents in just a few pages is not as easy as it might look like.
In fact, to most it seems like one big frightening process. Yet, working at the Career Services I learned that it is actually quite fun! What I am passionate about is to show as many students as possible the possibilities and opportunities of any cv. Gap year? Committees? Travel experience? Study with little career chances? We've heard it all and we are most definitely able to work it out together.
Take my own study for example. Doing a Master's in Theology and Religious studies, I get the skeptical look quite often. So... Am I going to find a job? Of course, just like any other RUG student is able to find one. I enhanced my CV with committee work, experience abroad and of course my job at the University. This year I will be investing my time in research and more trainings. Who knows, one day I might end up in front of the class instead of behind my own desk... What are your future plans?
