About studying in Groningen

Since my arrival at the University of Groningen I have felt comfortable and welcomed. I have received all the possible support to follow each and every procedure necessary to complete my studies. The International Office helped with their highly professional and kindly staff. They are always willing to help with all academic and personal necessities.

Regarding my academic experience, I had the opportunity to attend high standard courses, directed by passionate professors whose knowledge and practice of law was outstanding. The Programme provided me with a broader perspective in international economic and business law. It certainly allowed me to improve my knowledge, understanding and skills as a legal counsel. The University also offers extracurricular courses and social events that make the whole experience even more interesting. I really enjoyed meeting and making friends with exceptional people from different, amazing cultures, improving my personal and professional network.

Furthermore, Groningen is a small and picturesque city. It offers a charming atmosphere for life, studying and socialising. Although the weather is a little confusing -it is possible to have sun, rain and wind within a couple of hours!!! I nevertheless soon realized that it is just a matter of taking the umbrella and sunglasses together in your bag.

Since Groningen is a cosmopolitan, international centre for studies, almost all people in the city speak English as a second language. Therefore, there are no problems with communication. In any case, it is always possible and encouraging to take the Dutch courses offered by the University. Finally, it is worth mentioning that you may also find various opportunities to travel around and visit other beautiful European locations.

All in all, based on my own personal experience, I strongly recommend the University of Groningen as an option for studying abroad.
