In Groningen however, we were encouraged to think critically and to expand our knowledge beyond the textbooks.

About stuying in Groningen

I chose to study at the University of Groningen because it offers excellent master courses in law, and all taught in English. I studied a master programme in European Law. What I liked about my course is that we thoroughly covered all fields of European law. The studying was totally different than what I was used to in Serbia. Back home, we only needed to memorize large quantities of pages, critical and creative thinking was not appreciated. In Groningen however, we were encouraged to think critically and to expand our knowledge beyond the textbooks and to try to solve real life legal problems.

While studying in Groningen I lived in an international student house where I had the opportunity on a daily basis to meet new people from all over the world. This experience was amazing and now I have friends from all corners of the world.

The International Office of the Faculty of Law was extremely helpful. I would like to send my thanks to the ladies who work there. They provided immense help and support with all sorts of stuff that I had during my studies. Keep up the good work!
