About studying in Groningen

“The University of Groningen has a very good reputation. Not only in Europe, but also in my home country China. The University of Groningen is famous for its international study atmosphere and its researching and teaching strength. The University attracts numerous excellent students from all around the world. Studying here, I learned from the best academic professors and also discussed with classmates from different countries.

What skills did I gain from my course at the University of Groningen? In the study group secessions, I found that in order to make the whole team work efficient, all of us need to finish our own part on time with high quality. Also, not everyone will share the same opinion, so different teammates may always disagree with you. I have learnt how to persuade others to accept my opinion when I am sure I am right, and how to accept my fault when I am wrong.

Lakes and parks are right by the University. I can rest on a bench, jog around the lake and bike in the breeze after a hard day of studying. All of this really makes me feel relaxed and refreshed.

Most Dutch are very passionate and enthusiastic. They are also very kind and some of them are especially interested in China.

Here you do not always study in the library by yourself, as what you do in China, but you communicate with people from different countries and join student associations, so you have a lot of things to do outside the classroom.”
