Opening Model Factory Street for the Tools & Materials Fund

15 December 2015
Opening Model Factory Street for the Tools & Materials Fund

The Tools & Materials Fund was established to raise funds for high-quality educational resources in science education. Last year, the Ubbo Emmius Fund organized the first telethon for this fund. With the proceeds a Nao Evolution robot was purchased for the course Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, the PATO fund (Groningen) donated €50,000 for the purchase of a FESTO model factory street for Industrial Engineering students. With this street, students learn to program for (industrial) processes. The street has been in use since September. The official opening was on December 7th. In November 2015 a second telethon ran. This time, the campaign focused on the expansion of the factory street, so that students of Chemical Engineering and other engineering courses can use it as well. The provisional amount raised is € 14,900.
