Prof. dr. ir. H.H. Hinke Haisma
Has an interdisciplinary background, with a master in Nutrition Sciences, a PhD in Medical Sciences, and currently holding a chair in Population and Child Health at the Department of Demography (Faculty Spatial Sciences), and a visiting professorship in Nutrition and Health at the UMCG. Her work contributes to the global debate on how to further improve child malnutrition in an era of the double burden of malnutrition and disease. She employs the capability approach as a framework that could potentially contribute to a paradigm shift in this field of research.
Dr. H.G. Rina Knoeff
Holds a PhD in history of medicine from Cambridge University (2000). At present, she is Associate Professor at the History Department at the Faculty of Arts. Her work focuses on the history of medicine and the body, whereby in addition to ‘hard-core’ historical research, she links the past to present issues in the health sciences. She is particularly concerned with the question of how the past can help in answering the important question of how we can live and age well.
