Cooking fat


Cooking fat, like all other hard fats, is an ester of glycerol and saturated fatty acids. It is used for deep frying. It is important to replace it on a regular basis.


Cooking fat is disposed of separately and collected on request. Staff in the Food & Drinks department contact the supplier directly to arrange this.


After processing, cooking fat is reused (e.g. as a biofuel).
