Alumni Support research and education Scholarships and awards Groningen Scientific Excursion Foundation (GNEV)

History

The Groningen Scientific Excursion Association (GNEV) was founded in the year 1918, right after World War I. On September 9, 2014 the association was changed into a foundation with the name Groningen Scientific Excursion Foundation (GNEV).

The GNEV supports domestic excursions for students from all different branches of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (formerly known as the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) of the University of Groningen. This is because these excursions encourage the scientific development of the students and enlarge their understanding of how laboratories and industries cooperate with university institutions. The GNEV supports yearly about sixty of such excursions.

The foundation has a modest amount of investment but the revenues are insufficient to reach the goals mentioned above in a satisfactory way. We therefore invite all teachers, professors, researchers and PhD students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering to support the foundation with an annual fee of € 15 (or more).
