Medical instruments

12 March 2014

The University Museum has a number of special obstetric forceps which were used to deliver the ‘Nijhoff quintuplets’ in 1904. Another object on display is an experimental neonatal incubator. These are typical examples of Groningen’s academic heritage. They were developed by Groningen physicians and medical instrument makers. The pieces will be on display during the For Infinity anniversary exhibition in the Der Aa-kerk. The exhibition will shed new light on the University's rich history, as well as the distant future.

The weekly online video magazine Unifocus highlights topics related to the University of Groningen in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
