Making offices even smarter
A research group led by Prof. Marco Aiello is trying to develop ‘smart buildings’ that ‘know’ what is happening and are able to respond to the situation. This makes it possible, for example, to save energy. Among the tools being used are Plugwise plugs, which are being researched by Ilche Georgievski. They register the energy use of equipment and transfer this information to a computer via Wi-Fi.
The weekly online video magazine Unifocus highlights topics related to the University of Groningen in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
