Biography of Wilhelmina Bladergroen
Historian of teaching and emeritus professor of gender studies Mineke van Essen has written a biography of Wilhelmina Bladergroen. Bladergroen helped to establish special education in Groningen in the 1960s, and treated the children of the local elite in her private practice. Van Essen also discovered that Bladergroen was one of those behind the installation of Groningen’s iconic Peerd van Ome Loeks statue.
