Does a child understand what it's saying?
The Eye Lab of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen conducts research on language and language development in children. Gisi Cannizzaro studied language acquisition in toddlers. It was already known that toddlers sometimes interpret sentences in a different way to adults. Cannizzaro’s research results support a new insight that children can produce sentences that they don’t always understand themselves.
