As Secretary General of the Guild, based in Brussels, Jan Palmowski will show us the latest developments regarding the next Framework Programme, FP9. Where will it go? What are the big questions? How should we prepare ourselves? The Guild was founded in 2016 and comprises nineteen of Europe’s most distinguished research-intensive universities in fourteen countries,. It is dedicated to enhancing the voice of academic institutions, their researchers and their students. The Guild is committed to the pursuit of excellence, the importance of truth-seeking and trust-building as the foundation of public life, and the creation of new knowledge for the benefit of society, culture, and economic growth. The University of Groningen is on of the founding members of the Guild.

Seán McCarthy delivers training courses in 74 of the top 100 research organisation in Horizon 2020. This presentation looks at the top 74 organisations where Hyperion delivers courses. McCarthy examines the design of the research offices, the support that is provided to researchers, the attitude of senior management to European funding and how researchers view European programmes as part of their individual career plans.
