Esther Feijen-de Jong is een expert in het verloskundig vakgebied. In dit vakgebied heeft zijn diverse onderzoeken uitgevoerd waarbij de focus ligt op de organisatie van de geboortezorg. Haar speerpunt in dit onderzoek ligt bij kwetsbare zwangeren. Daarnaast voert ze (historisch) onderzoek uit naar de ontwikkeling van de beroepsidentiteit van (student) verloskundigen.

Ruben E. Verwaal gained his PhD in the History of Science and Medicine at the University of Groningen. His research project “Blood, Sweat & Tears” focussed on the role of chemistry of bodily fluids in eighteenth-century medicine and Dutch Enlightenment culture.
