Both staff and students participate on the University Council. The University Council gives solicited and unsolicited advice to the Board of the University and participates in the decision-making process regarding important topics that affect students and staff directly. Examples include the quality of teaching, the budget and everything related to new buildings and sustainability. For the perspectives of students and staff to be heard, the University Council frequently meets with the Board of the University and decisions are only made with the approval of the Council.
UG students and staff will be able to vote for a new University Council composition in May. But what does the University Council do exactly?
