Wortmann, Prof. Hans

Business and IT specialist Hans Wortmann is Professor of Information Management. He is specialized in business information systems for enterprises, in particular in sectors such as energy, logistics and healthcare. Wortmann conducts research into topics such as healthy ageing and changes in our living environment that are related to ageing, IT-related facilities that improve the quality of life and living, and ‘smart’ houses, also known as home automation or domotics.
For five years, Wortmann was leader of I2Care, a University of Groningen project that studies the possibilities of Telecare. Wortmann and his colleagues were recently awarded a large NWO grant for their research proposal ‘Sustainable logistics in fresh food’, which aims to answer the question of how fresh food logistics can be made more sustainable while reducing distribution processing times.
At Let's Gro 2014 Wortmann spoke about 'the house of tomorrow'.
