Development of 3D imaging of proton beams
The KVI Centre for Advanced Radiation technology , together with the UMCG, is conducting research on medical applications of ionizing radiation. Researchers at KVI-CART are currently working on a device which can perform an overall 3D check of the treatment plans of cancer patients who are being treated with proton beams. The new technique could prove useful for the new Dutch centres for proton therapy and in proton centres in other countries.
