Minnaert has a great deal of teaching experience, both in the Netherlands and abroad. He is involved in several different programmes and teaches at all levels, from first-year to Research Master’s students. In addition to subject-based course units, he also teaches a course unit on methods and techniques for empirical research (including intervention studies). In his own words, his driving force is ‘to motivate people to examine learning and/or behavioural problems from an inquiring angle’. Evaluations given by students praise his enthusiastic teaching style and his clear and explicit explanations. In the jury’s report, student representatives put it like this: ‘He is an inspiring lecturer who helps us to visualize current and socially relevant topics as well-structured and fundamental issues by identifying the key areas and using provocative examples. The things he tells you stick in your mind!’
