The first Education Festival will kick off on Thursday 12 April 2018 at 11 a.m. Lecturers and students will exchange best practices, learn from each other and generate new ideas. In short: Learning and inspiring.
Over fifty lecturers and students will talk about the newest developments. All UG lecturers and students are invited to participate. The key issue will be dialogue about good education.
The Festival (pdf) will be opened at 11 a.m. in the Aula of the Academy Building by Prof. Sibrand Poppema. Participants can then attend different workshops and presentations around the following themes (click on a theme for information about the workshops and presentations):
• Activating students
• The added value of lectures
• Beyond thinking
• Diversity and inclusion
• Research-driven education + Learning communities
The Lecturer of the Year Award is part of the Education Festival (in the Aula, starting at 2.30 p.m.). The nominated lecturers will each give a mini lecture lasting ten minutes, on which the jury will base their decision about the winner and two runners-up. Here, too, the audience can participate. Staff and students of the University of Groningen are warmly invited to take part in the Festival.
