Symposium 'A Flavor of Neuroscience'

When:Tu 09-02-2016 09:00 - 17:00

We would like to invite you to the UMCG symposium "A Flavor of Neuroscience", which will be held on February 9th 2016 in Groningen. This symposium focuses on the latest insights regarding the neurobiological mechanisms that are involved in food perception and eating behavior. A keynote lecture will be given by Prof. Dana Small from Yale University (USA).

Food choice has a major impact on our health and well-being. Therefore, a healthy diet is preferred to foster healthy aging. There are many factors related to differences in food perception both between individuals, such as personality traits, age, and medical condition, as well as within individuals over the lifespan, such as learning and memory. In recent years, an increasing number of neuroimaging studies started elucidating the neuronal patterns underlying these factors affecting food perception and eating behavior. During this symposium speakers will highlight the latest insights on these neurobiological mechanisms.

Registration is free, including lunch and closing drinks. Don’t hesitate too long with registering. Seats are limited to 60 spots, available for everyone interested in this topic, ranging from students to people working at knowledge institutes, industry, clinical practice, government etc.
