Summer Schools Groningen

With the Summer Schools program, the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), University of Groningen, is aiming towards international acknowledgement for medical education. In order to facilitate this, the UMCG offers foreign students the opportunity to get acquainted with the patient-oriented curriculum (named G2010), which are directed towards specific fields of interest. These Summer Schools take place during the summer holidays and thus do not coincide with the regular curriculum.

These activities illustrate the international character and attraction of the UMCG’s regular G2010 curriculum.

Both the UMCG and the Executive Board of the University of Groningen agree that one of the best ways in which it can strengthen the international character of the University is by increasing its enrolment efforts among foreign students, as well as providing more of its education in English. The UMCG Summer Schools may provide a model for other faculties at the University.
