Electives under Erasmus AgreementEvery academic year foreign students come to the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) to do a clinical internship or a research project under an Erasmus Agreement. The UMCG has Erasmus agreements with 38 faculties all over Europe. Arrangements have to be made by the Erasmus Co-ordinator of your own faculty. He or she can contact a supervisor of or one of the departments of the UCMG in order to organise your internship or researchproject. Mind that we cannot always guarantee that we will find you a place in the UMCG. It all depends on the available capacity. In some cases we might offer you an internship in a department that was not amongst the options you gave us. Further consider that some departments like Internal medicine and Peadiactrics demand that you speak Dutch fluently or that you have done a dutch language course before arrival. Finally, Erasmus students can enroll in one or more blocks of our International Bachelor Programme. More specific information can be found elsewhere on this site. As soon as your coming to our faculty is definitive we will start up the necessary procedures and inform you about housing, insurance, vaccinations and so on. Then there are some documents that have to be filled out. Again this is the responsability of your Erasmus co-ordinator. Two copies of the Learning Agreement and the Application form have to be sent to us by post to the following address: UMCG, sector F Onderwijsinstituut (FC40) International Office P.O.Box 196 9700 AD GRONINGEN or in case you want to use express post: Antonius Deusinglaan 1 9713 AV GRONINGEN Netherlands We will sign both copies and send one of them back to your Erasmus co-ordinator. Mind that we will only consider a request if we have proof that you have been selected for the Erasmus scholarship.
